Patrick is a partner in Shoosmiths’ real estate law team, with over 30 years’ experience in advising on large-scale high profile town and city centre regeneration schemes, including residential and commercial development matters, as well as real estate funding and investment. He has a particular expertise in offshore tax driven investment acquisitions. Patrick’s experience includes advising on many portfolio investment acquisitions especially of shopping centre and leisure schemes and more recently the real estate aspects of a refinancing deal for the development of No. 1 Old Trafford, the St Michael’s development in Manchester City Centre, the multimillion-pound forward sale and development of a student accommodation scheme for UCFB at Wembley Stadium. He has also recently supported Bruntwood with its public/private joint venture with Bury Council and the subsequent acquisition of a shopping centre in Bury town centre and in addition the acquisition funding and development agreements for the Birmingham Innovation Centre at Birmingham University.
